Keep calm and carry on: the British Fashion Council has announced the appointment of designer Anya Hindmarch as Non-Executive Director to its board. Hindmarch, who made her biggest leap to the mainstream market with her “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” reuseable totes, has been made a “non-executive director” and will take over the role from Hilary Riva who announced her departure on November 1st. Hindmarch joins Harold Tillman, Chairman; Caroline Rush, CEO; Simon Ward, COO; and Chris Inman, Treasurer. Riva joined the BFC in 2005 as the chief executive officer and later accepted a non-executive director role in March 2009. Tillman has told insiders that Hindmarch will make a great addition to the team and that she brings with her a vast amount of experience from both the design and retail sectors–undoubtedly an invaluable member as they move towards future changes within the organization.

Dear Fashion’s Night Out,
I’m so glad you wrote. This is where an Airbus a360 on speed dial and a magazine with an unlimited freelance editorial budget would come in handy.
I’ll be covering the 2009 TIFF festival (and trying at any moment to sneak into Clooney’s hotel room) but please know–always–that I’ll be thinking of you.
See you next year!
Yours eternally xoxo,
