British Fashion Council hires bag lady
Keep calm and carry on: the British Fashion Council has announced the appointment of designer Anya Hindmarch as Non-Executive Director to its board. Hindmarch, who made her biggest leap to the mainstream market with her “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” reuseable totes, has been made a “non-executive director” and will take over the role from Hilary Riva who announced her departure on November 1st. Hindmarch joins Harold Tillman, Chairman; Caroline Rush, CEO; Simon Ward, COO; and Chris Inman, Treasurer. Riva joined the BFC in 2005 as the chief executive officer and later accepted a non-executive director role in March 2009. Tillman has told insiders that Hindmarch will make a great addition to the team and that she brings with her a vast amount of experience from both the design and retail sectors–undoubtedly an invaluable member as they move towards future changes within the organization.
