Are we serious? Gary Taxali

July 14, 2011 - 11:27 pm

As a fashion, and art, lover I always enjoy discovering new artists. I came across Gary Taxali and his work last year and fell in love with his funny, zany use of characters, colours, prints and especially his clever use of type. There are some artists whose work instantly commands attention and Taxali is definitely a name to know. Today, the artist held a special signing and Q&A at The Drake Hotel for his debut children’s book, This is Silly, published by Scholastic Press.  In addition, Taxali canvased the entire hotel with his amazing work: art installations have been up since June 22 and will stay there until August 29. Even more exciting, Taxali is launching two more hardcopy works this fall: I Love You, OK? and Mono Taxali at the Art Gallery of Ontario on September 22 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Head over to the Gary Taxali website and his delightful blog for wonderful images and more of his work.
