No. 6: Numero Seis

With the economy in what seems like an everlasting flux, accessories seem to be the new start-up business and are proving to be a global cash cow for idle recessionistas looking to make a little extra.
The mentality: if you can’t afford to buy a new wardrobe (ahem, now that the 9 to 5 job is virtually extinct) pick up a few charms and baubles to help turn old duds into new and trendy outfits.
Toronto-based accessory line Numero Seis (No.6) offers a new kind of sparkle. Created by OCAD art grads, Pamela Martinez and Alejandra Porta the line speaks to the creative virtuoso while still sporting some trend gusto. Along with a bevy of popular feather hair and lapel clips, the team has also dreamed up animal necklaces (think of your favourite childhood figurines, just dipped in lacquered gold finish). Baubles include Canadian Mountie uniform buttons for earrings and gilt moose figurines on gold chain.
Join Glynnis Mapp of FashionTK and the gals for an intimate bespoke jewelery party on August 16 at 7 p.m. in Toronto, at The Augusta House.
